Dr. Light grew up in
Cedar Hill, Texas where his mother still lives. He has one married sister.
He is married to Irene Dirksen Light who is the oldest of nine children.
She earned a Master of Science in Nursing. They have three children and one granddaughter. The children have 24 cousins and a dog.

Dr. Light and his family
attend St. Mary's Catholic Church. Dr. and Mrs. Light have been active
in Marriage Encounter, a marriage enrichment program, since 1983.
